Manchester survive at Dinamo Zagreb to secure a home court advantage


Manchester Basketball wasted a 19 points lead in the last eight minutes of regulation but defeated Dinamo Zagreb, 91-88, on Tuesday, February 3, at the Drazen Petrovic hall in Croatian capital.

Max Jones led Manchester Basketball with 19 points on 7/16 shooting from the field.


University of Kansas State graduate guard scored his most important points from the free throw line with under 30 seconds left to play.


Jones sank both free throws for a 88-85 lead.


Fellow guard Jordan Johnson scored seven of his 18 points in the fourth quarter.


A former Hinds Community College and the University of New Orleans player went 4/4 from the charity stripe in the final 10 minutes.


DeLonnie Hunt scored 24 points for Dinamo Zagreb.


A former Richmond Spider knocked down a couple of three pointers to spark a comeback.


Hunt checked out with six rebounds and a game high 10 assists.


Ivan Novacic followed with 14 points.


Dinamo Zagreb captain, born in 1985, made his first three pointer with less than 10 seconds on the game clock.

Manchester Basketball shot 40 percent from the three point line, 12/30, in the first 30 minutes.


Dinamo Zagreb – ENBL record holders – shot a little over 10 percent, 2/19.


The hosts improved their three point shooting and went 8/14 in the last 10 minutes.


Manchester Basketball led by 19 points, 80-61, with eight minutes left.


Dinamo Zagreb went on a 6-24 run to cut the gap to a single point, 86-85, with less than 30 seconds to go.


Max Jones and Jordan Johnson made four consecutive free throws to regain a 90-85 lead.

Dinamo Zagreb suffered first loss on the home floor after three consecutive wins over Slovan Bratislava, Gimle Basket and Keila Coolbet.


Manchester Basketball are 3-1 on the road thanks to wins at Brussels Basketball, Gimle Basket and now, Dinamo Zagreb.


Matthew Otten and his men secured a home court advantage in the first round of playoffs – an excellent exclamation point to the regular season.


Both teams will learn their next opponents on February 11.
