Go+ Peja will not continue to participate in the European North Basketball league after a club refused to play the home game against BK Olomoucko scheduled on Monday, January 26.
Go+ Peja was eliminated from the Kosovo Cup on Thursday, January 22, after losing quarterfinal series against Bashkimi Prizren.
Fans of the Peja team threw smoke bombs on the floor, endangering the players, and accused club`s leadership.
On Friday, January 23, Go+ Peja informed ENBL about a cancellation of the upcoming home game against BK Olomoucko.
ENBL previously awarded a forfeit to Go+ Peja for not showing up to the regular season game at BK Olomoucko on Tuesday, January 13, in Prostejov, Czechia.
Repeated no-show leads to a second forfeit, makes it impossible for Go+ Peja to continue pool play, and, as a result, leads to a cancellation of the home game against Newcastle Eagles on February 11.
A standard practice after two forfeits is an automatic disqualification of the team and annulment of all results.
ENBL leadership finds impossible to annull all results with a participation of Go+ Peja due to a unique competition format of season 2025-2026 as the annulment of results will put the teams from Pool Three into disadvantage against the teams from Pool One and Pool Two.
In order to protect integrity and continuity of competition, the European North Basketball league takes full responsibility and decides:
to award a forfeit to Go+ Peja for a cancellation of the home game against BK Olomoucko,
to cancel a game between Go+ Peja and Newcastle Eagles after a former team has received two forfeits,
to apply a third forfeit to Go+ Peja due to impossibility to host a home game against Newcastle Eagles, according to official Basketball rules,
to apply a penalty of 25 000 euros to Go+ Peja,
to explore further sanctions against Go+ Peja, including a ban to return to the competition,
as a result, Go+ Peja have a 1-7 record and six points out of nine possible, BK Olomoucko have a 4-2 record and ten points, Newcastle Eagles have a 1-5 record and seven points.
The other games will proceed as planned.
