The 2025 European North Basketball league technical meeting concluded on Sunday, August 17, at the Tallink Rīga hotel in Latvian capital.
More than 20 teams participated in a record breaking event – literally, as the participants witnessed Latvian basketball indoor attendance record – 11 911 spectators – at the exhibition game between Latvia and Slovenia on Saturday, August 16, at the Xiaomi Arena.
A new format was officially announced during the technical meeting.
Twenty seven teams, drawn in three pools of nine, will play a round robin tournament with eight games for each team – four at home, four away – from September 23, 2025 until February 11, 2026.
Sixteen teams will advance to the 2026 ENBL playoffs.
Eightfinals feature a single elimination game at a higher seed (1-16, 2-15, 3-14, 4-13, 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9) on March 4-12, 2026.
Quarterfinals offer “best-of-two” home and away series (first pair 1-16 vs 8-9, second pair 2-15 vs 7-10, third pair 3-14 vs 6-11, fourth pair 4-13 vs 5-12) on March 17-April 2, 2026.
The winners advance to the Final Four, to be held on April 21-23, 2026.
