CSO Voluntari survive overtime thriller at TalTech/ALEXELA


CSO Voluntari expended a double digit lead in the last eight minutes of regulation but regrouped and posted a 93-88 overtime win over TalTech/ALEXELA on Wednesday, January 14, at the TalTech Spordihoone in Estonian capital.

Spartak Pleven trio Jalan McCloud, Martin Sotirov and Noel Brown recently combined for 78 points in a 95-91 win over Newcastle Eagles.


Mike Caffey, Kodi Justice and Solomon Young did something similar for CSO Voluntari.


Three men combined for 63 points despite a rather poor day from the three point line.


Iowa State big man Young had 23 points on 11/13 shooting inside the arc.


He grabbed a game high 14 rebounds and blocked one shot.


Caffey posted 22 points, seven assists and four steals.


Taavi Jurkatamm led TalTech/ALEXELA with 17 points.


Oliver Suurorg scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter.

CSO Voluntari led by 10 points, 64-54, with less than eight minutes left.


Oliver Suurorg then scored 11 points to tie the game at 67 with 5.11 to go.


The hosts stayed at the striking distance rest of the way.


Kristjan Kitsing sank three free throws after Voluntari coach Dan Ioan received a technical foul with less than 40 seconds left, 79-78.


Kitsing added two more free throws for a 79-80 lead with 14.7 seconds on the game clock.


Kodi Justice was fouled after a time-out with 6.8 seconds left.


He split the free throws to tie the game at 80.


Siim Post missed the last shot in regulation.
