Bristol Flyers start fireworks at Valmiera, go 3-1 on the road

Bristol Flyers had amazing shooting night and sank five consecutive three pointers at the start of the fourth quarter to defeat Valmiera Glass ViA, 106-91, on Tuesday, January 13, at the Vidzeme Olympic center in northern Latvia.

Owen McCormack led by example.
Bristol Flyers captain scored 20 points on 7/10 shooting from the field, including amazing 6/8 from the three point line.
McCormack hit back-to-back-to-back three pointers early in the fourth quarter.
Joe Anderson joined with 20 points on 8/16 shooting from the floor.
He went 4/9 from the deep.
Six Flyers – also Will Yoakum, Darnell Brodie, Marcus Delpeche, Evan Walshe – finished in double figures.
Evan Walshe recently returned to Bristol, after playing first half of the season at Bremerhaven, Germany.
Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones led Valmiera Glass ViA with 23 points on 11/16 shooting from the field.
Young Kiwi grabbed eight rebounds.
Curtis Hollis joined Valmiera mid December and scored 21 points on Monday.
Point guard Dominykas Stenionis registered 10 points and eight assists.

Bristol Flyers shot 57 percent in the first half, 20/35, including 50 percent from the three point line, 7/14.
Valmiera Glass ViA shot 42 percent, 15/35, including 30 percent from the deep, 6/20.
Seven Flyers scored five or more points for a 49-45 lead at the half.
Bristol Flyers shot the ball even better after the break, improving to 59 percent after the third quarter, 31/52.
Visitors extended their lead up to 14 points, 74-60.

Owen McCormack, Joe Anderson and Cam Holden hit five (!) consecutive three pointers to extend Bristol lead up to 23 points, 89-66, with less than seven minutes left.
Game notes
Bristol Flyers improved to 3-4, while Valmiera Glass ViA dropped to 4-2.
Andreas Kapoulas and his men have a 3-1 record on the road, taking scalps from Austria, Croatia and Latvia.
Valmiera Glass ViA suffered first home loss of the season, posting a 3-1 record.
Both teams are chasing the playoffs.
