Big, bad Wolves deny a win for brave Basket Brno

Ahmad Caver and Marcos Delia scored eight consecutive points in the last five minutes to lift BC Wolves over Basket Brno, 62-56, on Wednesday, February 1, at the Arena Ostrow in Poland.

The Wolves were playing with fire but combined efforts saved the day.


Ahmad Caver scored six of his 10 points in the clutch time.


Old Dominion guard struggled throughout the game but was unstoppable during the final push.


Caver added five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 25 minutes of playing time.


Marcos Delia matched Caver with 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.


Argentina international registered five rebounds as well.


Eric Buckner led the Wolf Pack with 14 points and 11 rebounds.


A former Gulf Coast State and Georgia State big man registered another double-double.


Eigirdas Žukauskas had 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.


Cody Riley led Basket Brno with 16 points.


UCLA boy grabbed a game high 14 rebounds.


Richard Balint had 13 points and four assists.


Kameron Chatman also posted 13 points.


A former Michigan and Detroit Mercy player added seven boards.


Key stats

Basket Brno led by as much as nine points and had a three point lead, 51-54, with less than seven minutes left.


Kristupas Žemaitis hit a three pointer to tie the game at 54.


Ahmad Caver and Marcos Delia took over, as the Wolves finished the game with a 11-2 run.


Basket Brno didn`t scored a field goal during last 06:49 minutes.


The Czech team still held BC Wolves to 62 points – a remarkable effort!


Game notes

BC Wolves improved to 4-2 and are one win away from the playoffs.


They may qualify with a loss only if Trefl Sopot beat BM Stal Ostrow later today.


Basket Brno added some fire power during the season but it was too little, too late in order to qualify.
