BC Slovan Bratislava will continue to play in the European North Basketball league.

Team from Slovakian capital made waves in its debut season.

Then Inter Bratislava became the first team in ENBL history to reach the Final Four with a 10-0 record.

Dontay Caruthers was named the first ever Defensive Player of the Year.

Isaiah Cousins earned the Most Valuable Player award.

Bratislava won the rights to host the 2025 Glasora Final Four at the iconic Gopass arena.

Head coach Aramis Naglič and his men did a great job, while the fans from Newcastle, Warsaw and Bucharest traveled to Bratislava to enjoy a basketball spectacle.

A spectacle indeed as two teams – Inter Bratislava and CSO Voluntari – showed offensive masterclass in the first semifinal.

Hosts eventually lost but they deserved a big round of applause for creating lasting memories.

A special thanks goes to Michal Ondruš, Andrej Hyza and their team behind the team.

Bratislava players and coaches finished season on May 17, when they lost Slovakian Finals game Five at Levice, 76-85, to earn a silver medal.

A team re-branding followed as Inter Bratislava turned into Slovan Bratislava.

It is a result of unification of four major sport Bratislava teams under one brand – Slovan.

A development company JTRE acquired ice hockey team HC Slovan Bratislava, BK Inter Bratislava, women`s basketball team BK Slovan Bratislava and men`s/women`s volleyball teams VKP Bratislava in 2024.

Inter Bratislava was founded in 1963.

The first golden era of the club followed less than 20 years later.

Inter won the Czechoslovakia championship in 1979, 1980, 1983 and 1985.

Bratislava club had some success shortly after a Velvet divorce, winning the Slovak Cup in 1995 and Slovakia championship in 1996, followed by the second Slovak Cup win in 2003.

Another golden era followed after 2012, highlighted by winning four Slovakia championships (2013, 2014, 2017, 2019) and two more Slovak Cups (2015, 2016).

Inter legend Stanislav Kropilák won four Czechoslovak league championships with Bratislava club – then Inter Slovnaft – and one more with Pardubice in 1984.

Center earned a silver medal at the EuroBasket 1985 and two bronze medals – in 1977 and 1981.

Kropilák entered FIBA Hall of Fame in 2021, shortly before his passing in 2022.

Richard Petruška played for Inter Bratislava (1988-1990) before studying at the Loyola Marymount (1990-1991) and University of Colorado at Los Angeles (1992-1993).

A Levice born center was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 46th pick in the 1993 NBA draft.

Petruška won the 1994 NBA title with the Texas club.

He accidentally dropped the Larry O`Brien Championship Trophy during team celebration. The dent in the trophy`s basketball remained a part of the trophy until 2018.

The other Yellow and Black legends are Rado Rančík, Martin Rančík, Peter Rajniak, Juraj Žuffa and Justín Sedlák.

Gopass Arena – formerly known as Hala Pasienky, Hant Arena and Eurovia Arena – is a renovated multi-use arena in Bratislava, known for its distinct shape made of two crossing parabolic arches.

Architect Jozef Chovanec designed arena as a partial copy of J. S. Dorton arena – Paraboleum – in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the grounds of the North Carolina State Fair.

Gopass Arena has become an icon of Slovak modern construction. Capacity – 3 200.

Vienna airport (VIE) is a major international hub, located 55 kilometers from Slovakian capital.
