We the South: welcome CSO Voluntari!

CSO Voluntari is the first club from Romania to play in the European North Basketball league.
Romania represents one of the fastest growing club scenes in Europe.
The Liga Națională Baschet de Masculin Mozzart Bet (LNBM) was founded in 1950.
LNBM Mozzart Bet has 18 teams in first division.
They are: Laguna Bucuresti, CSU Sibiu, Dinamo Bucuresti, Municipal 2007 Focsani, Municipal Galati, Municipal Targu Jiu, Municipal Targu Mures, Rapid Bucuresti, Steaua Bucuresti, Athletic Constanta, Oradea, Mercurea Ciuc, CSO Voluntari, Arges Pitesti, Mozzart Bet Timisoara, SCMU Craiova and U-Banca Transilvania Cluj-Napoca.
Oradea and Cluj-Napoca entered the Basketball Champions league qualifiers in its inaugural season 2016-2017.
Both made it to the second round and Oradea qualified for the regular season after a 142-133 success against Lukoil Academic.
Oradea posted a 6-8 record to finish sixth in the Group B.
Cluj-Napoca made it to the regular season in 2021.
Transylvania team won the Group G with a 5-1 record, overpowering Hapoel Holon, Darussafaka Istanbul and Happy Casa Brindisi.
Cluj-Napoca advanced to the Last 16 and...topped Group K with a 3-1 record ahead of Unicaja Malaga, Filou Oostende and Prometey.
The glorious run was stopped in the quarterfinals where Cluj-Napoca suffered a 1-2 defeat at the hands of MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.
In 2022, CSO Voluntari became the third team from Romania to enter the Basketball Champions league qualifiers.
CSO Voluntari defeated the Leicester Riders, 70-61, on September 21, 2022, and made it to the second qualifying round.
Oradea advanced to the FIBA Europe Cup semifinals in 2021.
The Romanians prevailed over Parma Perm in the bronze medal game, 85-76, while Ironi Ness Ziona posted a 82-74 win over BM Stal Ostrow in the title game.
Targu Jiu, Targu Mures, Steaua Bucuresti, Sibiu, CSO Voluntari (2021-2022) and SCMU Craiova (2022-2023) have also played at the FIBA Europe Cup qualifiers or regular season.
Cluj-Napoca entered the 7Days Eurocup in 2022 and posted five wins in debut season.
ACS Sepsi SIC Sfantu Gheorghe entered the EuroCup Women in 2013-2014 and has become a regular participant with one of the most vibrant fan bases.
They played at the EuroLeague Women qualifiers in 2022.
Romania hosted the EuroBasket 2017 together with Finland, Israel and Turkey.
Constanta and Bucuresti are 3x3 basketball hotspots.
Romania co-hosted the EuroBasket Women 2015 together with Hungary.
CSO Voluntari was founded in 2005.
The club has two first league teams and is represented in 14 other sports.
As of 2023, the club has 1200 people in its system.
CSO Voluntari entered the LNBM in 2019.
In March 2021, the club won the Romanian Cup for the first time and reached the LNBM semifinals.
CSO Voluntari won the second Romanian Cup in 2022 and advanced to the LNBM finals to earn a silver medal after a thrilling 1-3 loss against Cluj-Napoca.
Voluntari have shown cohesion and resilience in their way up, earning respect across all competitions.
The club signed former Latvia and Ukraine national team coach Ainars Bagatskis in January 2023.
CSO Voluntari home court is Sala Gabriela Szabo with a 1100 capacity.
Adrian Moldovan is the president of the club.
