Estonian bronze medalists return: welcome, TalTech/ALEXELA!

The 2026 Estonia bronze medalists TalTech/ALEXELA from Tallinn return to the European North Basketball league for a second consecutive season and their third showing overall.

Estonia is the first country in ENBL history to register for six consecutive league seasons.

Czechia, Latvia and Poland are the other three countries to match Estonian streak.

The 2026 Estonian champions – Tartu University – played in the ENBL from 2021 until 2025.

TalTech joined competition during the 2022-2023 season and returned for the 2025-2026 campaign.

On January 25, 2023, TalTech posted their first European win thanks to a 91-73 success at SIGAL Prishtina.

Kristaps Gludītis and Oliver Metsalu scored 28 and 26 points respectively.

Three years later TalTech/ALEXELA quadrupled their win count to qualify for the 2026 playoffs.

On October 8, 2025, led by head coach Alar Varrak, the Estonians registered their first ENBL home win against HEFTE HELFEN BULLS, 61-55.

Four weeks later they scored a convincing 85-51 victory over Alkar Sinj.

Two road wins were needed to advance – first, a 89-71 success at the Fyllingen Lions, and then a 76-70 victory at the Bristol Flyers to book the last ticket.

On March 11, 2026, TalTech debuted in the ENBL playoffs, playing against a two time Greece champions, #2 Iraklis BC.

TalTech also reached the quarterfinals of the Estonia and Latvia league where they fell at the hands of the 2026 champions, Valmiera Glass ViA, and finished with their second best result – sixth place.

Ten more games followed in the Estonian playoffs, highlighted by a 78-77 semifinal win at Kalev/Cramo on May 5.

TalTech lost the semifinal series, 1-3, but recovered to sweep the Optibet Korvpalli Meistriliiga bronze medal series against Parnu, 3-0.

Siim Markus-Post scored 31 points in Game Three, including a 6/10 salvo from the three point line.

Oliver Metsalu posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Taavi Jurkatamm had eight points and 11 rebounds.

They won their first Estonian Championship medal in 15 years, after finishing fourth in 2019, 2022 and 2025.

Tallinn University of Technology – formerly Tallinn Technical University (Tallinna Tehnikaülikool, TTÜ in Estonian) – was founded in 1918 and is of the same age as the Estonian State.

On September 17, 2018, Tallinn University of Technology adopted a new short name – TalTech.

It`s the third highest ranked university in the Baltic States, behind Tartu University and Vilnius University.

TTÜ basketball team was founded in 1951 and won eight Estonian championships (1961-1966, 1984, 1985).

After Estonia regained independence on August 20, 1991, the Tallinn team wasn`t as visible and spent some seasons outside the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML, Estonia`s top flight).

TTÜ earned four bronze finishes in the KML (2004, 2009, 2011, 2026) and played in some more semifinals as well to finish in the fourth place (2010, 2019, 2022, 2025).

The students were even more successful in the Estonian Cup.

TTÜ won the Estonian Cup in 2004 and reached the Final Four on six more occasions (final in 2009, bronze in 2021, 2025, 2026, and the fourth place in 2014 and 2016).

Gregor Arbet, a long time Estonian international – represented the National team from 2002 until 2019 – spent his last two seasons as a player with the TalTech (2018-2020).

An eight time KML champion and a five time Estonian Cup winner was an assistant coach and sports director of TalTech from 2020 until 2022.

Alar Varrak is a TalTech head coach from 2021.

A former point guard won eight Estonian titles with BC Kalev as a player (2002) and a coach (2009, 2011-2014, 2016, 2017).

TalTech has a special rivalry with the Tartu University, known as the University Derby.

Initiated by TalTech and now one of the highlights of the Estonian sports calendar, the University Duel is more than just a game – it’s a basketball celebration and a matter of pride between universities.

The event brings together thousands of students, alumni, university staff, and sports fans from across Estonia at least twice per season.

Hendrik Voll, TalTech’s Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Development and President of the Estonian Academic Sports Federation (EASL), said:

“The basketball derby between the two major universities is probably the biggest positive rivalry that currently exists in Estonian sports. What makes it special is the spirited support and the powerful yet dignified atmosphere. When you come to the game, you’ll experience something that words can hardly describe – you simply have to feel that energy yourself.”

Home court is a TalTech Sport hall with a capacity of 1000.

Estonian capital is served by the Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport (TLL).

I was going through some academic discussion threads and noticed how often students struggle with statistics, especially when the concepts start getting more complex than expected. Someone casually mentioned Statistics Assignment Writing Help in the middle of the thread, and it made sense because sometimes you just need a different explanation style to understand things properly. Statistics itself isn't impossible, but it does feel demanding with formulas and interpretation, so even a small mistake can throw off the whole calculation. I keep running into issues where I understand the concept but fail when applying it to actual data, especially with probability and hypothesis testing. It gets a bit frustrating when checking my work takes longer than solving the problem itself.…

This was a good read. I like finding content that's straightforward and easy to understand.

I've been playing GeoDash on and off, and it's always fun trying different levels. The colorful visuals, smooth controls, and unique obstacles make every stage feel fresh.
