The European North Basketball league have excluded Russian and Belarusian clubs from the competition, as of March 1, 2022, due to the ongoing and escalated war against Ukraine.
ENBL thanks BC Enisey and Borisfen Mogilev for their commitment and contribution to the game we love.
We do not blame any of the Russian and Belarusian athletes. We support every player, especially Russians and Belarusians, who bravely stated their position against the war – like Ekaterina Gamova and Yelena Leuchanka.
The next steps concerning the continuation of the ENBL season will be announced at a later date.
The ENBL’s decision reflects a strong stance in solidarity with Ukraine during an incredibly difficult time. Sports often serve as a mirror of global values, and this move shows the importance of unity and ethics beyond the court. Just as small actions can light up dark times, even simple joys-like adding lights for LEGO sets to creative play-remind us how light can always overcome darkness.
