National championships: Bulgaria championship started on October 7. Spartak Pleven (1-0) won the home encounter against Akademik Plovdiv (0-1), defeating opponents 97-71.
British Basketball league opened on September 14. The Bristol Flyers (3-3) had a very successful weekend. Andreas Kapoulas men outlasted the Sheffield Sharks, 67-65, on Friday night, and prevailed over the Plymouth City Patriots, 92-63, on Sunday.
