Zalucki, BM Stal Ostrow show a shooting masterclass at Valmiera


BM Stal Ostrow finished the game shooting 59% from the field, including 48% from the deep, to score a 94-71 road win against Valmiera Glass VIA on Monday, January 9, at the Vidzeme Olympic Center in northern Latvia.

Five Stalowka players finished in double figures.


Aleksander Zalucki scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including a 4-of-7 effort from the three point line.


He grabbed four rebounds and stole the ball once.


Nemanja Djurišič provided a spark from the bench.


Montenegro forward posted 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.


Mateusz Zebski and Damian Kulig scored 12 points each.


Josh Perkins contributed with 10 points.


A former Gonzaga point guard dished out eight assists.


Aigars Šķēle joined the party with eight points and a game high 10 assists.


Ojārs Siliņš excelled from the three point line as he made three of his five attempts for nine points.


Tervell Beck led Valmiera Glass ViA with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the court.


A former Kent State standout went 2-of-3 from the deep.


Valters Vēveris scored 15 points.


Valmiera captain added two rebounds and two assists.


Ričards Greitāns chipped in with 12 points.

BM Stal Ostrow went on a shooting spree and scored 82 points in the first 30 minutes of the game.


The Polish club used a nine player rotation to control the game.


Ostrow outrebounded Valmiera 35-21 (offensive rebounds 11-5) and scored more second chance points, 17-4.


The guests led by as much as 32 points.


Game notes

BM Slam Ostrow traveled to Warsaw on Sunday and flew to Riga.


Andrzej Urban`s team improved to 3-1 while Valmiera dropped to 0-3.


Ostrow will play another game on Tuesday at Tartu.
