North meets South: Fyllingen Lions to face CSO Voluntari

Opening week continues at the shores of the North Sea as the 2024 and 2025 Norway champions Fyllingen Lions host the reigning ENBL champions CSO Voluntari on Thursday, September 25.


Series history: Fyllingen Lions will face CSO Voluntari for the first time.


2,073 spectators showed up at the Haukelandshallen on February 5, 2025 to witness home stand against the nine time Germany champions, Bamberg Baskets.




National championships: first round of the BLNO took place on September 19-21.


Fyllingen Lions (1-0) defeated Centrum Tigers Oslo, 88-82.


Romania championship will feature 16 teams.


CSO Voluntari advanced to Romania SuperCup final and lost to EuroCup team Cluj Napoca, 75-80.


Voluntari new roster has multiple 2025 ENBL champions: Mike Caffey, Alexandru Olah, Kodi Justice, Lee Skinner, Laszlo Polyak, Matei Visan and Octavin Serbanescu.

Crew chief: Viola Gyorgyi (Norway) – FIBA referee from 2013; has worked at the Basketball Champions League, EuroBasket 2022 and 2025, FIBA World Cup 2023 and Paris 2024.


Umpire 1: Andras Mate Stretea (Romania) – has been refereeing from 2012, Liga Nationala referee from 2016, FIBA referee from 2023.


Umpire 2: Nikola Bejat (Norway) – FIBA referee from 2017, national referee from 2010.
