Juventus Utena solve Bristol abracadabra, end Flyers 7-0 streak

Uniclub Casino Juventus Utena proved their excellent form as Oliver Kostič`s men edged out the Bristol Flyers, 76-75, on Tuesday, October 31, at the SGS College Wise Arena in Bristol.


Players of the game

Billy Ivey made his biggest play with 12 seconds left when he stole the ball and it resulted in a technical foul for the Flyers coach.


San Jose State guard went to the free throw line and made two-of-three attempts for a 76-72 lead.


Ivey scored a game high 24 points on 8/11 shooting from the field and 5/7 from the charity stripe.

Šarūnas Beniušis and Žygimantas Skučas added 10 points each.


Tejon Lucas led the Flyers with 19 points.


A former Illinois, Milwaukee and Brigham Young University point guard had a game high eight assists.

Brad Greene contributed with 12 points and 14 rebounds.


University of California at Irvine star finished with another impressive double-double.


Key stats

The game went down to the wire.

Tejon Lucas faced the double team and Billy Ivey stole the ball with a little more than 10 seconds left.

Ivey was fouled – referees watched the game tape and awarded three free throws for Juventus guard.


He missed the first one. The next two went in, 76-72.


Tejon Lucas made a three pointer to cut the gap to a single point, 76-75.

Flyers fouled again and Ryan Taylor went to the free throw line.

He missed the first one – and then intentionally missed the second attempt.


The hosts ran out of time with 1.3 seconds left.

Uniclub Casino Juventus improved to 2-0, while the Bristol Flyers dropped to 1-1.


Utena team ended Bristol`s 7-0 streak across all competitions.


Andreas Kapoulas men posted six consecutive victories in the British Basketball league and won the ENBL opener at Spartak Pleven.

Four best teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs (A1-B4, A2-B3, A3-B2, A4-B1).

The 2024 playoffs – home and away, best-of-two series – will take place from February 1 until March 20.

The 2024 Final Four will take place on April 9-10.
