First ENBL playoff game in Belgium: Liège to host Uniclub Casino Juventus

The last two teams will enter the 2024 ENBL playoffs on Wednesday, March 13, as Liège Basket will host Uniclub Casino Juventus Utena.



Series history: Royal Liège Basket and Uniclub Casino Juventus will face each other for the first time.


Liège Basket finished fourth in the Group B with a 4-3 record.


Uniclub Casino Juventus finished first in the Group A with a 6-1 record.


Liège are 2-1 in the ENBL home games.


Juventus are 3-0 in the ENBL road games.


Liège Basket are eyeing their first Final Four.

Key matchup: Kevin Tumba averages 8.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks for Liège.


He shoots 70.3% from the floor and 40.0% from the free throw line.


Šarūnas Beniušis averages 11.6 points and 4.3 rebounds for Juventus.


He shoots 78.0% from the floor and 60.7% from the charity stripe.



National championships: Liège Basket are 0-1 in the Group C at the BNXT league.


Group C features ten teams – five best teams from Belgium and five best teams from the Netherlands.


Only Oostende and Antwerp have played more than one game in the Group C.


The other teams are – ZZ Leiden, Limburg, Groningen, Den Bosch, Zwolle, Charleroi and BAL Weerf.


Liège Basket will host Landstede Hammers Zwolle on March 15.


Juventus are 13-8 at the Betsafe LKL.


They trail to Žalgiris (18-2), Rytas Vilnius (18-3) and Wolves Vilnius (15-6).


There are 11 teams left in the league as Gargždai withdrew due to limited financial resources.


Juventus defeated Pieno Žvaigzdes, 119-78, on March 10.

Umpire 2: Andzej Urbanovic (Lithuania) – a Top 10 referee from Lithuania and a FIBA referee from 2019.
