Denmark rising: welcome Svendborg Rabbits!

Denmark is a well known sports nation.


One of its biggest achievements was registered in 1992, when Denmark`s men`s team won the European championship in football.

The Danish women reached the Euro final in 2017.


Denmark won the European Handball Championship for Men in 2008 and 2012.


The Danish women won three European titles in 1994, 1996 and 2002.

Basketball is growing too, both on national team and club level.

The Danes posted a surprising win over Lithuania at the EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers.


Gabriel “Iffe” Lundberg scored 28 points for the winners.


Combo guard now represents Virtus Bologna, a historic club from Italy and the first Euroleague champion in ULEB era.


The Bakken Bears from Arhus reached the FIBA Europe Cup semifinals on March 27, 2018.


On this day, a new Danish team enters the European waters.

Svendborg Rabbits was established as a professional club in 2006.

The Rabbits won their first silverware in 2008, when they triumphed in the Danish Cup.

They added three more Cup wins in 2012, 2014, 2022.

The Rabbits conquered their first National championship in 2010.


Award case includes seven silver medals in 2007-2009, 2011-2013 and 2022.


Team`s home court is the Svendborg Idrætscenter, nicknamed the Kaninhulen or the Rabbit Burrow (capacity 1922).

Svendborg is located on the island of Funen in south-central Denmark – 195 kilometres south-west of Copenhagen.

The largest container ship company in the world, A.P. Møller – Mærsk, has its origins in Svendborg, in the "Villa Anna".


Svendborg Rabbits will play in the Group A, facing opponents from the Great Britain, Israel, Netherlands, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia and Lithuania.
