Davis arrives in the "last moment" to lead Šiauliai comeback against CSO Voluntari

Jonathan Davis scored 13 points and made three steals in the second half to power Šiauliai past CSO Voluntari, 85-77, on Tuesday, September 19, at the Šiauliai arena in Lithuania.

Jonathan Davis replaced injured Dachon Burke literally hours before the start of the 2023-2024 ENBL season.


A former Uniclub Casino Juventus guard signed at Lietkabelis but didn`t stayed with Panevezys team.

Šiauliai director Donatas Slanina didn`t wasted time and offered a two months contract for the Charlotte 49ers (2015-2019) star.

Davis delivered in his first game, as he finished with 18 points in a 85-77 comeback win.


Point guard had four assists, four steals and six forced fouls for a +/- ratio of 21.


Tomaš Pavelka had a huge game as well.


A former Tartu big man stood his ground under the basket enroute to a team high 19 points and 14 rebounds.


Slovakia international grabbed some crucial offensive boards in the second half.

Šiauliai captain Nemanja Bezbradica added nine points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field.


Trevon Allen led all scorers with 22 points.


A former Idaho Vandal was a CSO Voluntari go-to man in the first 20 minutes as he scored quick 16 points.


Guard connected four three pointers but wasn`t as prominent during the clutch time.

JT Shumate, a 24 year old forward from Toledo, had 15 points for the Romanian club.

Nikolajs Mazurs men scored more points on fast breaks, 23-16, especially in the second half, 15-8.


Jonathan Davis initiated several counter attacks after the halftime break.

Šiauliai outrebounded Voluntari, 37-26, including on the offensive end, 10-5.

Steals and offensive rebounds helped the hosts to finish the game with a 23-10 run.


CSO Voluntari led by five points with 07:38 left, 62-67.


Šiauliai went 3-of-18 from the three point line but found another ways how to score.


Game notes

Šiauliai registered the first win of season after dropping an LKL opener against Wolves, 66-68.

Nikolajs Mazurs, a 2022 Final Four participant with Tartu University, posted his first success with the club after Šiauliai parted ways with its legendary playcaller Antanas Sireika.


CSO Voluntari led by as much as nine points in their debut game.
