Zielona Gora starters get the job done, despite crazy Valmiera shooters

Zastal Zielona Gora starters dominated in the paint to lift their team over perimeter focused Valmiera Glass ViA, 106-100, on Tuesday, October 31, at the CRS Hall in western Poland. The teams combined for 206 points – the highest scoring ENBL game in regulation.


Players of the game

Darious Hall led the home team with 21 points on 9/14 shooting from the field.


Central Arkansas star added two assists, a game high four steals and one blocked shot.


Jan Wojcik had 17 points on 6/8 shooting from the field and 5/6 from the charity stripe.


Geoffrey Groselle never missed from the court to finish with 16 points.


Zastal captain went 7/7 inside the three point line.


Creighton big man contributed with eight rebounds, six assists and three steals!


Sean Seneca Knight was the best scorer as he scored 21 points for Valmiera.


Illinois State University graduate went 7/15 from the field and 4/8 from the free throw line.



Key stats

Zielona Gora starters – Musič, Hall, Woroniecki, Wojcik and Groselle – scored 78 points.


Four of them finished in double figures.


Starters were particularly impressive in the first half when they shot 80% from the two points mark (16/20).


Zielona Gora shot 72% from two (34/47) compared to 56% for Valmiera (18/32).


The Latvian team answered with a three point barrage.


Eight Valmiera players scored from the deep, enroute to a 16/45 effort.


Five visitors finished in double figures as they cut Zastal`s lead to six points.



Game notes

Halloween night marked the highest scoring ENBL game in regulation (206 points) as both teams reached the century mark.


Valmiera tied the third best result in three pointers made.

Four best teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs (A1-B4, A2-B3, A3-B2, A4-B1).


The 2024 playoffs – home and away, best-of-two series – will take place from February 1 until March 20.


The 2024 Final Four will take place on April 9-10.
