Zac Cuthbertson – MVP of the regular season

Zachary "Zac" Cuthbertson from King Szczecin is the Most Valuable Player of the 2022-2023 regular season, according to vote by the clubs and the European North Basketball league.


Cuthbertson led King Szczecin to six consecutive wins and the first place in the Group B. American forward has averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals in seven games for an efficiency rating of 13,1. He shot 52.0% from the three point line.


Small forward scored 20 points in a 89-86 win over Ironi Ness Ziona on December 28, 2022, at the STAREZ Arena Vodova in Brno. Cuthbertson made a go-ahead three, 85-83, with 02:33 left, and then scored a game winner at the buzzer.

Cuthbertson had 17 points and seven rebounds against BC Wolves. His playing time against the top teams like Ironi Ness Ziona and BC Wolves exceeded 30 minutes. He made at least two three-pointers in five games.

A New Bern, North Carolina native attended West Craven High School at Vanceboro, North Carolina. As a freshman, Cuthbertson played at Lincoln Trail College in Illinois. As a sophomore, he played for the NJCAA Division One team Mineral Area College (2016-2017) in Missouri.

Cuthbertson transferred to the NCAA Division One team Coastal Carolina. He started in 59 games for Chanticleers and played in the Sun Belt Conference. Cuthbertson averaged 18.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in his senior year. He was named to the All-Sun Belt second team in 2019.

Forward started his professional career overseas. Cuthbertson has played for Boras Basket in Sweden, Maccabi Ashdod in Israel, Hamburg Towers in Germany and La Union de Formosa in Argentina before joining the PLK side King Szczecin.
