Weissenfels to host ENBL VIMODROM FINAL FOUR 2026

The European North Basketball league`s VIMODROM Final Four 2026 will take place on April 22-23, at the Stadthalle Weissenfels in Weissenfels, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.

The arena Stadthalle Weissenfels was inaugurated in June 2002 and has a maximum capacity of 3 000 spectators, including 2 300 in stationary seats.

The arena is the home of the 2025 German Cup and the 2004 FIBA Europe Cup winners – SYNTAINICS MBC.

Stadthalle Weissenfels hosted the 2025 German Cup Final Four | VIMODROM Top Four 2025 on February 15-16, and the 2016 Euro Floorball Cup.

Club was founded in 1958 and was known as SSV Einheit Weißenfels until 1999.

MBC entered Bundesliga in 1999.

The first summit in club`s history was reached on March 28, 2004, when MBC defeated Jean d`Arc Dijon Basket, 84-68, and won the FIBA Europe Cup in Izmir, Türkiye.

First national title was conquered 21 years later.

On February 15-16, 2025, Weissenfels hosted the BBL Pokal Final Four for the first time.

SYNTAINICS MBC advanced to the Top Four after defeating Giessen 46ers in the first round, 103-77, Riesen Ludwigsburg in the second round, 85-77, and USC Heidelberg in the quarters, 100-85.

Bamberg Baskets knocked out ALBA Berlin, Bayern Munich dominated against Rasta Vechta, and Skyliners Frankfurt outlasted BG Gottingen.

The Final Four draw took place on December 9, 2024.

SYNTAINICS MBC were drawn against Bayern Munich and defeated them in the semifinals, 95-93.

Bamberg Baskets held Skyliners Frankfurt to 63 points, 76-63.

Stadthalle Weissenfels was sold out in every game and witnessed SYNTAINICS MBC triumph over Bamberg Baskets, 97-87.

Michael Jaden Devoe was named the Most Valuable Player.

Team, coached by a Latvian strategist Jānis Gailītis, posted other memorable victories.

SYNTAINICS MBC defeated ALBA Berlin on the home floor, 94-76.

Even more impressive, Weissenfels club won both regular season duels against Bayern Munich – a 99-86 success at home and a 90-88 shocker on the road.

SYNTAINICS MBC posted a 17-15 record to finish eighth in the regular season and booked a ticket to play-in round.

Jānis Gailītis men prevailed over ninth seated Baskets Oldenburg, 110-95, to advance to the quarterfinals.

Top seeded Bayern Munich came out in full force, defeating Weissenfels, Heidelberg and Ulm in the best-of-five series to claim the 2025 Bundesliga title.

Jānis Gailītis worked 17 years in VEF Rīga and had a brilliant year with SYNTAINICS MBC.
