Uptown funk: Deondre Burns shines for Prishtina

Deondre Burns, Adrio Bailey and Lamb Autrey combined for 58 points and 15 assists to guide SIGAL Prishtina to a 90-79 home win against Gimle Basket on Wednesday, October 1, at the Pallati i Rinise dhe Sportev in Kosovo capital.

Prishtina guard Deondre Burns was born in Jackson, Mississippi.


He showed his funk and soul roots on the court, dropping a game high 30 points.

Burns added four assists and three steals.


Fellow guard Lamb Autrey had 12 points and a game high 11 assists.

Adrio Bailey (University of Arkansas) chipped in with 16 points.


Gimle Basket players replied with two double-doubles.


Javonte Johnson (California Baptist University 2025) had 19 points and 10 rebounds.


Montenegrin national team player Milovan Savič checked out with 17 points and 11 rebounds.



Key stats

Gimle Basket led by seven points late in the first quarter but Prishtina controlled the next 30 minutes.


The Norwegians stayed in the game and made it a one possession match early in the fourth quarter.


A trio of Burns, Autrey and Bailey with a help from Don Polloshka regained a double digit lead for the home team.


Prishtina shot 51 percent from the field, 33/65, including a solid 44 percent effort from the deep, 12/27.


Both teams handled the ball well, turning it over 10 and 13 times respectively.



Game notes

SIGAL Prishtina improved to 1-0, while Gimle Basket dropped to 0-1.


Gimle Basket is the second team from Norway to play in the European North Basketball league.


Bergen based team won the national championship in 2022 and 2023.


Greek playcaller Michalis Kakiouzis earned his first win in the ENBL.
