Stellar half for Troisfontaines, Royal Liège Basket dominate at Brno




Olivier Troisfontaines scored 19 points in the first half to navigate Royal Liège Basket past Basket Brno, 95-62, on Thursday, December 28, at the Starez Arena Vodova in southern Czechia.

Olivier Troisfontaines had one of the most impressive half time performances in the ENBL history.


Forward made five three pointers and did not missed a single two pointer enroute to 19 points before the halftime break.


Troisfontaines single handedly outscored Basket Brno from the three point line.


He played less than five minutes in the second half.


Kevin Tumba came close to double-double...again.


Big man had nine points and 12 rebounds.


Tumba showed his defensive prowess as he added three steals and two blocks.


E.J. Anosike (California State University at Fullerton 2022) scored 15 points on 6/10 shooting from the field.


Forward contributed with five rebounds and four assists.


Angel Rodriguez (Miami 2016) checked out with 14 points and a game high eight assists.


Gregory Edward Lee III led Basket Brno with 19 points.


Penn State standout had seven boards too.



Key stats

Royal Liège Basket went 8/13 from the three point line in the first half.


Alex Zampier`s men controlled the paint, 24-8, and outrebounded the hosts, 23-14.


Liège Basket extended its lead up to 27 points, 58-31, with 20 minutes left.


Basket Brno never recovered, despite a strong performance by Greg Lee.


The hosts shot 32 percent from the floor, 21/64.

Royal Liège Basket improved to 4-1, while Basket Brno dropped to 0-5.


Liège Basket have won three games in a row.


Alex Zampier`s men end the 2023 in the second place in Group B, due to a 68-89 loss at CSO Voluntari.


Basket Brno have lost all five ENBL games on the home floor.

Format

Four best teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs (A1-B4, A2-B3, A3-B2, A4-B1).


The 2024 playoffs – home and away, best-of-two series – will take place from February 1 until March 20.


The 2024 Final Four will take place on April 9-10.
