Meiers and Wade-Chatman torch TalTech Optibet defense


All Kalev/Cramo starters scored in double figures as Heiko Rannula`s team took off for a quick start in a 105-69 win over city rivals TalTech Optibet on Thursday, December 22, at the Nord Cramo Spordihoone in Tallinn, Estonia.

Mārtiņš Meiers dominated in the paint for the Kalev/Cramo.


Latvian center didn`t missed a shot in the first half as the hosts jumped to a 57-27 lead at the half.


Meiers finished with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including a 7-of-8 effort inside the three point line.


Big man posted three rebounds and two blocked shots for a efficiency rating of 25.


Henri Wade-Chatman added more fire power as he connected 6-of-9 attempts from the three point line.

A formed Edinboro Fighting Scot made three three-pointers in the first half and scored three more in the fourth quarter.

Wade-Chatman finished with a game high 22 points.


He contributed with five rebounds, three assists and two steals for a game high efficiency figures.

Kaspar Kitsing scored 14 points, while Artur Konontšuk and Oleksandr Kovliar had 13 points each.

Wesley Van Beck (Houston) chipped in with 12 points.


Oliver Metsalu led TalTech Optibet with 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting.


Metsalu collected three rebounds, two assists and two steals for a team high efficiency rating of 14.

Latvian guard Kristaps Gludītis had 10 points, three assists and two steals.


Key stats

Kalev/Cramo made 67% of field goal attempts (23/34) in the first half.

Heiko Rannula`s team went for a 85% accuracy (17/20) inside the three point line!

Kalev/Cramo outscored Tallinn Optibet 57-27 until the break.

The hosts increased their lead up to 40 points tying the second highest winning margin.


TalTech Optibet improved their rebounding in the second half (offensive rebounds 8-19) and scored more second chance points (11-14).


They cut the gap to 36 points in the end.


Six Kalev/Cramo players finished in double figures.


Game notes

Kalev/Cramo won the Group F at the FIBA Europe Cup on November 30.

The Estonians finished with a 5-1 record and advanced to the second round together with Budivelnyk Kyiv (4-2).

Kalev/Cramo now play in the Group K together with Gaziantep (Turkey), HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim (Germany) and Heroes Den Bosch (Netherlands).


The next games are scheduled on January 11, 18 and 25, 2023.


Kalev/Cramo also won the Estonian Cup with a 77-64 win over Viimsi/Sportland on December 18 at Narva.


Due to the tight schedule, the Thursday`s game is "double-counted" – in the Pafbet Estonia-Latvia league and in the ENBL.
