History makers from Bucharest: welcome, CSO Voluntari!

The 2025 ENBL champions CSO Voluntari will play in the European North Basketball league for a fourth consecutive season.

What a ride it has been so far.

CSO Voluntari is the first team in ENBL history which has played in three consecutive Final Fours.

They reached the 2024 final in Aarhus, Denmark, falling at the hands of the most decorated Nordics club, magnificent Bakken Bears.

A year later CSO Voluntari returned to the Final Four to walk all way to their first European title.

On April 8, 2025, they ended a ten game winning streak by then Inter Bratislava in an epic 107-103 to advance to the second consecutive final.

On April 9, CSO Voluntari defeated the most decorated British club, Newcastle Eagles, to lift the trophy.

Latvian playcaller Ainars Bagatskis posted a 18-5 record in the ENBL, and also won the Romanian Cup at the Final Eight in Oradea.

His successor Dan Ioan also managed to register a 10 win season to reach another Final Four, this time at Weissenfels, Germany.

Although CSO Voluntari lost both games at the Stadthalle Weissenfels, their overall 28-8 record is a reference point for numerous achievements.

They finished fourth in extended 26 team competition, highlighted by presence of clubs from German Bundesliga and Greek Basketball league.

Solomon Young made the All Star team.

His teammates Lee Skinner and Mike Caffey were voted into the 2025 All Star team, with latter taking the MVP honors.

The 2026 roster featured seven ENBL gold medalists – Kodi Justice, Mike Caffey, Laszlo Polyak, Lee Skinner, Costin Serbanescu, Matei Visan and Alexandru Olah.

On domestic front, CSO Voluntari posted a 20-8 record to finish third at the Liga Nationala regular season.

In the best-of-five quarterfinals, they fell at the hands of the #4 Craiova, 1-3.

The EuroCup team Cluj Napoca was not ranked and won the 2026 title, sweeping #7 Sibiu and Craiova, and then outlasting #1 Oradea, 3-1.

CSO Voluntari was founded in 2005. 

The club has two first league teams and is represented in 14 other sports.

As of 2023, the club had 1200 people in its system.

CSO Voluntari entered the LNBM in 2019.

In March 2021, the club won the Romanian Cup for the first time and reached the LNBM semifinals.

CSO Voluntari won the second Romanian Cup in 2022 and advanced to the LNBM finals to earn a silver medal after a thrilling 1-3 loss against Cluj-Napoca.

Voluntari have shown cohesion and resilience in their way up, earning respect across all competitions.

The club signed former Latvia national team coach Ainars Bagatskis in January 2023.

CSO Voluntari home court is Sala Gabriela Szabo with a 1100 capacity.
