Hermet and Smith highlight a comeback win for Polski Cukier Start Lublin

Polski Cukier Start Lublin players made six three pointers in the third quarter for a 83-68 comeback win over TalTech Optibet on Tuesday, November 22, at the Hala Globus in Lublin, Poland.

Kregor Hermet played a crucial role in Lublin`s comeback.


Power forward made two three pointers and dished out several assists to spark a 27-11 run shortly after the halftime break.

Hermet scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half.

Estonian filled the stat sheet, finishing the game with three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one blocked shot.


Dayshon Hassan Smith led the hosts with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field.

Scoochie, a formed Dayton Flyer, went without a miss during the first half and remained remarkably effective the rest of the way.


Bronx native from New York City posted a game high six assists.


Kacper Mlynarski provided a spark from the bench, by making 3-of-5 shots from the deep.


Center Roman Szymanski added nice 10 points too.



Kristaps Gludītis from TalTech was the scorer of the night.


Latvian sharpshooter scored 16 of his 19 points in the first half.

Gludītis made 4-of-7 attempts before the break but was contained right after that.


Anatoliy Shundel had 14 points.


Ukrainian guard together with Gludītis formed the main axis of TalTech attack.

Start Lublin players made 6-of-11 three pointers in the third quarter.


Most of those were registered after a good ball movement.


The hosts trailed 36-41 early in the second half.


A 27-11 run turned the tables around for a 63-52 lead.


TalTech Optibet struggled in shooting, especially in the second half.


The Tallinn club went for a 3-of-15 accuracy from the deep during the last 20 minutes.

Visitors stayed at the striking distance until the 36th minute 72-66.

They couldn`t score from the field after while Lublin went on a 11-2 game closing run.



Game notes

Polski Cukier Start Lublin played without a Latvian center Klāvs Čavars.

He missed the second game due to ankle injury.

Artur Gronek`s team posted a debut win in the ENBL, while TalTech stayed in the lane for 35 minutes.


The game co-incided with the 2022 FIFA World Cup game between Poland and Mexico which ended with a scoreless draw.
