Brown, Thompson and Trushkin lead Enisey to win at Valmiera

Basketball club Enisey (4-0) held Valmiera Glass/ViA (0-6) to 15 or less points in every quarter and sailed to a 82-54 win on Tuesday, February 22, at the Vidzeme Olympic center in northern Latvia.

James Thompson IV took control in the paint and scored 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line.

Eastern Michigan star dominated in the second quarter to put his team in front.

Center forced eight fouls and grabbed five rebounds.

Vladislav Trushkin also did a lot of damage in the paint.

He filled the stat sheet enroute to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Spartak Vidnoye graduate stole the ball, blocked one shot and turned the ball over just one time.

Rion Brown was deadly from all positions – like a hurricane.

Miami standout scored a game high 14 points, including a 3-of-7 effort from the three point line.

Brynton Lemar also finished in double figures.

University of California at Davis star had 12 points and three steals.

Jānis Engers replied with 13 points on 3-of-5 shooting from downtown.

Jānis Kaufmanis led the hosts with 11 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Klāvs Dubults and Darious Clark (Slippery Rock) added nine points each.

Enisey had a six points lead at the half 33-27.

Valmiera tied the game at 38.

Siberian giants went on a 18-4 run late in a third quarter for a 56-42 lead.

Enisey doubled its lead in the final 10 minutes for a 28 points advantage.

Krasnoyarsk team outscored hosts in the paint 30-20.

Thompson forced eight fouls alone and his team went 23-of-27 from the charity stripe.

Valmiera made 7-of-12 free throw attempts.

Enisey reserves outscored Valmiera 34-10.

Game notes

Enisey improved to 4-0 while Valmiera dropped to 0-6.

Vidzeme team won three of its last five game at the Pafbet Estonia and Latvia league however is still winless at the ENBL.

Valters Vēveris and Ervīns Jonāts didn`t played for the hosts.

There will be one more chance for Valmiera on March 3, with Borisfen coming over.

Enisey suffered two losses on the road recently at Tsmoki Minsk and UNICS Kazan.

The Siberian Giants have a 4-9 record at the VTB United league.
