Bristol Flyers win at home, hold Dinamo Bucharest to 58 points

Bristol Flyers posted third consecutive victory and ended cold spell on the home floor with a 76-58 win over Roger Grimau and Dinamo Bucharest on Wednesday, January 15, at the SGS College arena in southern England.

Bristol Flyers had impressive guest list – Bamberg Baskets, Legia Warszawa, Inter Bratislava and Dinamo Bucharest.


They accumulated a 0-3 record on the home floor and 0-4 overall but it`s a distant history now.


Flyers have three consecutive victories under their belt.


Kedrian Johnson played a big part in this turnaround.


West Virginia University star guard scored 14 points and dished out six assists.


Kendall Lewis also had 14 points.


Illinois State University forward added nine boards and two blocks.


Anthony Roberts led all scorers with 23 points for Dinamo Bucharest.


Stony Brook University guard went 8/17 from the field and 4/5 from the charity stripe.


Serbian big man Aleksandar Marelja had 16 points.

Key stats

Flyers had a strong start and secured 15 points lead at the end of the first quarter, 24-9.


Dinamo Bucharest managed to answer with a strong comeback and even took a 44-45 lead midway the third quarter after a three pointer by Jakov Mustapič.


Dinamo Bucharest scored just 13 points in the last 16:28 minutes.


Dalan Ancrum missed all three point attempts for the visitors and Dinamo starters struggled.


Bristol starters outscored opponents, 59-16.


The Flyers had 22 assists on 28 field goals.



Game notes

Bristol Flyers improved to 3-4, while Dinamo Bucharest dropped to 1-5.


Andreas Kapoulas and his men have won three games in a row.


The Flyers face a must win road game at Keila Coolbet on January 28.


They need a good three way tie to keep their qualifying hopes alive.
