Basketball capital of Norway rising: welcome, Fyllingen Lions!

The three time Norway champions Fyllingen Lions will play in the European North Basketball league for a third consecutive season.

Two months and twelve days later, the club rebranded itself as the Fyllingen Lions.

This transformation was made possible thanks to the support of two key sponsors: Meteva Sport og Helse and Haltbakk Bunkers.

A new set of standards was set, as numerous teams from Europe arranged their trips to Bergen.

Fyllingen Lions hosted the first-ever ENBL game in Norway, facing Keila Coolbet on December 4, 2024, at Haukelandshallen.

The 2025 BBL Trophy finalists Bristol Flyers, 2024 ENBL Champions – Bakken Bears Aarhus – and 2025 German Cup finalists, Bamberg Baskets, also visited Norway`s basketball capital.

A crowd of 2,073 spectators showed up to witness the first-time visit by the nine-time German champions on February 5, 2025.

On January 7, 2026, Fyllingen Lions won at Bristol Flyers, 91-82, posting their first victory against the British club.

A year before the Lions celebrated their first European win at Basket Brno, 72-68.

European experience helped the Fyllingen Lions to secure back-to-back-to-back titles in Norway.

On April 30, 2026, Fyllingen Lions won the best-of-five series against Gimle Basket, 3-2, after trailing 0-1 and 1-2, and erasing a 16 points deficit in Game Five.

Calix Black N'Diaye took the coaching reins in 2019 and won his third consecutive national title.

The other three time champions are Eric Fongue, Lars Espe and Nikolas Skouen.

Bouna N`Diaye and Pol Canadell have two Norwegian titles each.

Next season marks a 30 years anniversary for the club.

For Fyllingen Lions, this is more than a game.

The club builds safe spaces for young people to grow, both on and off the court.

Fyllingen Lions is an open and inclusive club, committed to elevating Norwegian basketball.

It`s a club for everyone who wants to achieve more.

There were approximately 20,000 registered players across Norway in 2024.
